The client.

The mission of M3S Sports Group is to produce remarkable celebrations of the Active Healthy Lifestyle focused on an amazing participant experience with best-in-class operations and a second-to-none customer service. Hosting 15+ running events each year, in Central Ohio and throughout the country, M3S is probably best know for their OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon (affectionately known as “Cap City”), the OhioHealth Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon, and The Ohio State Four Miler.

The opportunity.

Excited to host a live running event in a new home in Historic Dublin and the newly developed Bridge Park, M3S Sports approached MJ2 Marketing to help with the promotion of the OhioHealth Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon. In addition to generating registrations for the event, M3S wanted to support their sponsors through paid and organic social media marketing, capture the voice of the race, and showcase all that Dublin had to offer as their new home and race destination.

The outcome.

Our team collaborated to combine both a paid Facebook Ads campaign and organic social posts to target their desired audience and generate excitement for and participation in the event. The project was a success, with the OhioHealth Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon breaking registration records, and selling out of the 5K option of the event. Paid ads generated 150+ direct registrations, while the organic posts increased (by large percentages, up to 1,300% increase in video views) every social media metric, successfully showcased their partnerships and sponsors, and captured the voice of M3S Sports and Emerald City.
