Graphic Designer

MJ2 Marketing is seeking a talented individual to join our team as Graphic Designer. This role supports our clients in the development and execution of their digital marketing programs, with an emphasis on graphic design and overall project and account management.   

At MJ2 Marketing, we see graphic design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires our clients and their target audiences. We’re looking for a talented graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in primarily electronic media with some print projects, as well. 

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of professional experience and expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple teams across the company, the graphic designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects.  

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for every project. This team member will be playing a key role in face-to-face client interactions, presentations, and account management. 

Objectives of Role

  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business and client goals
  • Obtain input from account managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members to meet deadlines, stay within a project budget, and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve design capabilities
  • Update and maintain internal databases for designs, photography, and video 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include websites, landing pages, digital graphics, email marketing campaigns, presentations, and other marketing materials 
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity 
  • Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout 
  • Manage the design and upload 
  • Work with account teams to develop an overall digital strategy for clients, and work to ensure that strategy is executed on for each account
  • Be held accountable for planning and allocating project resources, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Engage in consistent and frequent communication with each client to ensure benchmarks are met and relationships are maintained

Required skills and qualifications

  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills 
  • Five or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a professional demeanor 
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Able to work successfully both independently and as part of a team 
  • Able to manage deadlines without supervision 
  • Desire to continue building skill set with education and training 

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably with a creative or marketing agency 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline

Social Media Specialist

MJ2 Marketing is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Social Media Specialist. This role will assist Account Managers in executing the content and social media strategies for our diverse portfolio of clients.  This includes creating and publishing content on all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to grow an audience, build brand awareness, and ultimately, boost desired conversion based on the client’s goals. 

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of professional experience with a strong understanding of how to use social media platforms to attract and interact with targeted virtual communities and audiences. This person is able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team to execute digital marketing strategies across several different accounts. 

While a specific degree is not required, preference will be given to those candidates with strong experience in social media marketing. Competency in graphic design, photo/video editing, web design, and creative writing are all positives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to 8-10 accounts and/or projects, including social media management, email, content writing, and event coverage, under the supervision of an account manager.
  • Work with various account teams to determine overarching strategy, and ensure strategy is followed on each account
  • Assist with planning and execution of outreach client events
  • Conduct social media brand research and audits
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns
  • Participate in internal team and client meetings
  • Write creative/media/email briefs and work with creative team to fine-tune deliverables
  • Assist in the creation of graphic design and and video assets
  • Assist in the creation of web/digital assets and email campaigns
