Announcing MJ2 Marketing 3.0

During the ‘lockdown of 2020’, MJ2 Marketing embarked on a new website and digital strategy. What better way to keep ourselves busy than to work on our brand? As a result, we launched MJ2 2.0 that summer, and, until now, it has been an effective way to tell our story.

Now, four years later, our story has changed. We have seen immeasurable growth for our agency and have scaled to offer a full suite of digital services that have allowed us to secure new clients, including Piada, MedPro Systems, CLB Restaurants, and even our own Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

While many things have changed for us over the past four years, many things have – and will – remain the same. Our team continues to execute across all things digital; we show up each and every day for each other and our clients; and we have fun together and love the pace of the frenetic agency lifestyle.

Why MJ2 Marketing 3.0?

We understand the need to stay competitive and relevant in the digital marketing space, after all, we remind our clients of this regularly! So, in setting out to refresh our brand, our over-arching goals were to clarify our position in the market, establish creative messaging to more clearly and accurately describe our products and services, and, most importantly, demonstrate the impact we make on our clients’ behalf.

We engaged with Brand Strategist, Leah Cotterman, and our very own Marketing Strategist, Lisa Moore, to facilitate the process and provide both an outside and long-term perspective of the brand, core values, culture, and path forward. The approach included interviews with several key clients and senior team members, updated creative, and a brand-new website to better tell our story.

Here’s how MJ2 3.0 took shape!

Launching MJ2 3.0

As a boutique marketing agency, we provide personalized service and tailored strategies for our clients. At times, this may include a website refresh or full redesign, updated brand messaging, new creative, and more. We frequently recommend such strategies to our clients … and we knew it was time that we followed our own recommendations!

Along the way, we were energized and grateful to receive valuable, reaffirming feedback from our client interviews like:

I chose MJ2 because they were like me, an owner-operated business. They think and speak like a business owner. And, most importantly, they drive results.
– Jamie Menges, PDS Planning

I feel like they’re really a part of the team. They’re contributory, curious, and get to know the business so they can recommend what’s right for it.
– Molly Woeste, McSteen Land Surveyors

They have a human touch, a personal connection. They take care of clients, and I trust the (MJ2) team completely.”
– Ryan Marrie, Ohio Real Title and Venture Title Services

As MJ2 has grown and evolved over our 16 years, adapting to the ever-changing digital marketing landscape. We have added services and new team members to enhance our more data-driven service offerings while remaining true to our core identity as a boutique marketing agency.

Our brand refresh allowed us to bring into direct focus our core foundation

Data | Strategy | Relationships

From there we clearly defined our values:

  • Excellence: We go all-in. We have high standards and commit to excellence every time.
  • Partnership: We are arm-in-arm. Success is something achieved when we care like it’s our own business. When our clients win, we win.
  • Intentionality: We get it. Our experience enables us to ask the right questions and drive the desired results. We know what works, because we’ve been there.
  • Agility: We flex and engage with subject matter experts to meet client goals and creative problem-solving.

Once the messaging and positioning were complete, MJ2 engaged Graphic Designer, Ana Goffe, to bring all these words to life. The infusion of a brighter, gradient green while purposefully keeping the strong square MJ2 logo was decided, and updated photo treatments and creative elements to give MJ2 a more current, digital-focused look.

With new creative and messaging ready, Senior Managers, Andrew Bash and Ashley Allison engaged our web design and development teams to focus on our new website. We know new websites require time, patience, focus, and timely responses, so everyone was engaged and prepared for this process. Proudly, our team completed the last piece of this brand refresh puzzle in just over three months – and we are thrilled to share the final product.

Of course, no branding or website project is complete without new team photography. We love our new bridge shot to fit right in our home page. Special shout out to Annie Ciotola for getting images to us so quickly – great work!

In the dynamic world of digital marketing, the ability to pivot quickly and adapt is crucial. In this case, we are proud of the entire #TeamMJ2 for understanding the need to invest in ourselves and taking the time to move this project to fruition. While our new website is the most visible deliverable from this undertaking, we think you will recognize a lot of other changes in how we tell our story. Welcome to MJ2 3.0!
