Bringing Worthington’s Vision to Life

Since 2022, the Content Marketing team at MJ2 Marketing has worked closely with Anne Brown and her team at the City of Worthington to manage all city-related social platforms. And while we love that relationship, we were thrilled when Anne and then-Acting City Manager, Robyn Stewart, asked our Graphic Design team to work on their Visioning Project.

The Visioning Project was first adopted and approved by the Worthington City Council in 2019 and 2020, with input and feedback from thousands of Worthington citizens. The result was the formation of seven vision statements and supporting principles that encapsulate what they heard from the community about what Worthington should look like over the next 10-15 years.

But we all know a picture (or a graphic, in this case) is worth a thousand words.

The City began a process to coordinate seven working groups that were chartered with further developing action steps and strategies related to the seven vision statements. City Manager Robyn Stewart further asked Anne and her Communications team to develop visual elements, like graphic icons, that could be used for each of the different vision statements. The goal was that the icons would easily identify what future action steps or initiatives relate to which vision.

The MJ2 Marketing creative team went on to develop two versions of seven different icons that both worked independently and with one another. The icons were developed to be used both digitally and in print and different size formats depending on the variety of ways they may be used.

We are incredibly proud of the work our team did on behalf of the City of Worthington and look forward to seeing the icons in use as Worthington’s vision for the community continues to come into focus.
