The Winter Games are here! As one of the world’s largest brands, the Olympics draw a gargantuan audience each time the biennial events occur. The XXII Olympic Winter Games are ready to start this week in Sochi and social media has brought a new aspect to the event! Even if you aren’t travelling to Russia, you can still follow the games live through a variety of resources. Here are a few:
- The Sochi 2014 Results App allows you to experience the Olympics and receive instant results for the various sporting events. Once downloaded, the 2014 Results Application allows you to follow Team USA (or any country), follow medal races in real time, view schedules and results and also receive alerts with the latest news about the team or athletes you are following.
- BBC’s Winter Olympics App piggybacks off their huge digital success during the 2012 games. As the first to offer a live stream of the Winter Games, BBC plans to bring an innovative new approach to delivering live coverage across PC, tablet and mobile.
- NBC will be live streaming all events on their website and mobile app. Beginning with the preliminary rounds on February 6th through the final medal ceremony, subscribers can view all 15 sporting events live throughout the Winter Games.
