Earlier today Instagram announced the launch of the newest addition to their app, Instagram Direct. This feature will be available immediately upon updating the mobile app on iOS and Android, and will be available shortly on Windows Phone.
Like Snapchat, Instagram Direct allows you to share photos with select groups of people rather than your entire follower base. Where Instagram’s new service differs from Snapchat is that instead of deleting the photos after a short amount of time Instagram Direct messages will be preserved so that the people involved in the message can leave likes and comments.
