For our business writer, Katherine Main, chasing around two toddlers is not enough to keep her busy. She also enjoys giving back to the community by being involved with several charities. She is currently serving as Event Chairperson for the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk.
Katherine first learned about St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a Tri-Delta at The Ohio State University. St. Jude is the sorority’s dedicated philanthropy and she participated in several events to raise funds for the organization while learning more about the hospital. St Jude exists to treat the sickest of the sick kids and give hope to parents around the world.
When she became a mother, Katherine was even more thankful that a place like St. Jude exists. That is why she has volunteered her services to help organize the Columbus St. Jude Give thanks. Walk.
This family friendly walk is FREE to register. Each participant is given fundraising incentives; however, participants are not held to them if they cannot raise the money. The walk will take place on Saturday, November 23, at 8am at The Franklin Park Conservatory. There will be an after-party breakfast with entertainment including face painters, caricature drawings, giveaways and more! All money raised during the event goes directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Events like these are especially important to the hospital. Not only do they raise funds but they also raise awareness about the hospital. St. Jude does not charge patients or family ANY money for treatment, stay, food, etc., regardless of health insurance or financial background. No one is ever billed.
