A Look Back at the Flying Feather Four Miler

We are fortunate at MJ2 Marketing to have long-standing relationships with a variety of businesses throughout Central Ohio, and we particularly love those clients who allow us to work on projects in our own backyard in Dublin, Ohio.

One of those clients is M3S Sports, a sports marketing firm dedicated to promoting a healthy active lifestyle. Hosting 15+ running events each year, in Central Ohio and throughout the country, M3S is probably best known for their OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon (affectionately known as “Cap City”), the OhioHealth Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon, and The Ohio State Four Miler.

We first had the opportunity to work with M3S in promoting the OhioHealth Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon, held in August 2021. Our team collaborated to combine both a paid Facebook Ads campaign and organic social posting stragegy to target their desired audience and generate excitement for and participation in the event. The project was a success, with the OhioHealth Emerald City Half & Quarter Marathon breaking registration records, and selling out of the 5K option of the event.

Fast forward to November 2021, and M3S approached MJ2 about helping to promote another one of their more popular races, the Flying Feather Four Miler, which is the largest Thanksgiving Day race in Central Ohio and held at the Club at Corazon in Dublin. Similar to the promotion of Emerald City, we executed a lead generation campaign for the event, combining both paid and organic social media strategy and execution. Again, the project was a success, with nearly 200 direct registrations from the paid ads and increases in organic reach and engagement on social posts specific to Flying Feather.

Aside from being a marketing success, the Flying Feather Four Miler was a ton of fun and lived up to its reputation of being the Ultimate Thanksgiving Celebration! MJ2 Marketing President, Megan James, and Digital Content Director, Jenn Dring, took the opportunity to participate in the race with friends and family. While it is possible that Megan and Jenn were motivated by the Flying Feather quarter zip, finisher’s medal, and bottle of wine (!!), both said that “it was the perfect way to start the day, despite a little rain!”

At MJ2, we take great pride in being a part of the Dublin community and make every effort – even running four miles – to participate in as much within and in support of the community as we can. 

Just over the past couple of years, Team MJ2 commissioned a unique art installation in Historic Dublin, adopted a family for Christmas, participated in Emerald City and Flying Feather, volunteered at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, and so much more. 

Let’s just say we love Dublin, and we love our clients even more!
