Lisa Moore’s Professional Life

Way back when…you know in the 90s, I started my professional career at a mortgage company in Worthington after graduating from Bowling Green State University. It was an unpredicted path as finance had been my least favorite college class, but that’s where it all began.

After 12 years in sales and mortgage lending, I left for a few years, but always kept my hand and mind involved in marketing projects during that time. My past mortgage colleagues chuckled when I suggested they should consider digital marketing opportunities on Twitter, which ironically brought me to MJ2 Marketing. I had connected and engaged with MJ2 on Twitter, had a meeting and the rest is history.

The core of my professional career was built on relationship marketing and business development, which made for a nice base to build a marketing career. Many times sales teams are siloed from marketing, but they really are connected – and they need each other. I am very passionate about content, social and email marketing as necessary components of an overall marketing strategy. Just ask me, I will be happy to chat about it and apply possibilities in your industry.

Lisa Moore’s Personal Life

I married my high school sweetheart, almost 28 years ago. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our sons, Sullivan (23) who is starting grad school this fall at Northern Arizona University and Mac (17) a junior at Olentangy Berlin High School. We are a competitive, snarky bunch, always having a family March Madness pool, dinner on the patio or playing a board game of Ticket to Ride, Shoot the Moon, Secret Hitler or The Thing.

I also spend a lot of time volunteering in the Olentangy community, with Olentangy Education Foundation, for the Berlin Baseball program and the United Way of Delaware County. My mantra is always leave it better than you found it, and I hope I’m making a small difference in our community.

Q&A with Lisa Moore

What is your favorite thing about working at MJ2?

The pace and diversity of projects. We don’t mess around! We collaborate and execute seamlessly, pivoting from real estate to skin care to franchising – all in the same meeting.

What has been your favorite MJ2 project?

Hands down, Priority Mortgage! Coming from a mortgage background many moons ago, I really enjoy working with them and hearing about the daily ins-and-outs in the real estate market.

If you could trade skills for a day with another MJ2 team member, who would it be and why?

This one is hard. I have so much respect for the skill sets and personalities of each MJ2 member for different reasons that it’s difficult to choose just one. If I had to say one, it would be Andrew. In client meetings with him, I usually learn something new. His understanding of multiple aspects of digital marketing and web development never cease to amaze me.

How do you stay current in your areas of expertise?

Reading various content marketing digital trade mags, staying curious about how and why for all things marketing and attending (in-person or virtually) content marketing conferences, like Content Marketing World

What are your top 3 favorite Columbus based companies?

Donatos, been a fan of the Grote family for years and I love their cauliflower pizza.

Homage, because they have some of the best pop culture references in their merchandise.

Sweet Tooth Cottage, if you know me, you know why. And, if you don’t know about Sweet Tooth Cottage, get there soon.

Blue Jackets, Crew, Clippers, or Wild Dogs?

Um…hello, baseball? Columbus Clippers #TheClipShow

What is your favorite relaxing activity?

Well, my favorite is hanging out with my family, playing games, traveling, streaming the latest and greatest and enjoying delicious local, independent restaurants.

What are you currently reading?

Other than the daily Morning Brew (if you’re not receiving this email, sign up now), I just got a book that has been in my queue for a few months and am excited to start, The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Always leave it better than you found it.

How do you take your coffee?

Tan, you know with lots of cream.

If you were a baseball player, what song would you walk out to?

Having a baseball player in the house, we have lots of conversations about this exact topic. I would definitely need a song with a heavy beat, one that is also good driving music.

Top contenders, depending on the mood:
• I by Kendrick Lamar
• Enter Sandman by Metallica
• God Going to Cut You Down by Johnny Cash

What is your favorite restaurant in Columbus?

The Top Steak House – classic, delicious food and cocktails.
