Jordan’s Professional Life
I’ve worked in a number of different fields professionally, but my start in digital marketing was in 2012 when I started my own website development business.
I began doing contract work with MJ2 in 2015, and after ~5 years of a continually increasing portion of work that I was doing with them, I joined the amazing team we have here. My primary roles at MJ2 include website development and SEO, but I’ve also learned a number of other skills from my teammates with expertise in those areas. A few examples of these skills are social media strategy, design fundamentals, and content writing techniques.
Seeing the positive impact that our work has on our clients’ businesses drives me to want to continuously improve and expand my skills. Looking to the future, I am excited to be a part of the growth of the MJ2 website development team and to help our team stay on the cutting edge of integrated SEO, which plays a role in everything that we do for our clients.
Jordan’s Personal Life
I spend most of my time outside of work with my wife and 2 sons – ages 6 and 7 years old. I spend hours each week with them building Legos, playing video games, and admiring my boys’ coloring/drawing.
I am really into music – both playing it and listening to it. I am most content when I am able to attend concerts – especially at outdoor venues. I enjoy a lot of current indie rock, but I’m always up for some 90s alternative!
Podcasts are my other obsession. I love to learn new things and the ability to listen to podcasts in my earbuds while doing other things, makes even something like cleaning up after my kids enjoyable.

What is your favorite thing about working at MJ2?
The people – duh!
What has been your favorite MJ2 project?
I love all of our new website projects. That said, one of my favorites from that group was Epic Group. Ana’s design was amazing and it was a nice combination of fun and challenging on the development side.
If you could trade skills for a day with another MJ2 team member, who would it be and why?
Probably, Andrew – his ability to combine an eye for design with the ability to manage 1000 different things at one time amazes me!
How do you stay current in your areas of expertise?
I am a big podcast listener and always make sure I am getting a good mix of web development and marketing episodes in my rotation. I also use Twitter to keep up with web development thought leaders who consistently share articles dealing with cutting edge topics in the field.

What is your favorite relaxing activity?
I love music! Whether it’s a live show, just listening to music at home, or watching concert footage on YouTube, I am most content when music is involved.
What are you currently reading?
Personally, 2020 has not been a great year for book reading. Most of my time reading has been spent keeping up with everything going on in politics, sports, and culture.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
It’s cliche, but “Treat others the way you want to be treated.”

What is your favorite restaurant in Columbus?
I’m a big fan of Northstar Cafe. It’s a great place for a meal, or just to sit and have a cup of coffee!
