Launched in 2015, Red Nose Day has raised nearly $150M, positively impacting more than 16M children. The mission of the campaign is to end child poverty by funding programs that keep children safe, healthy and educated.
Right up MJ2’s alley, Red Nose Day aims to use the power of entertainment to bring people together for this common cause. The red nose “encourages people to come together, share a laugh, and gives the world something to smile about.”
MJ2 Marketing has been encouraging friends, partners, and clients to participate in Red Nose Day since 2016. “I love that we have participated in Red Nose Day throughout the years…it’s a great campaign to jump into! It’s highly social, and I love seeing the red noses pop up around town and on all the media outlets.” says Megan James, President of MJ2. She goes on to say that “[w]e choose to participate as it gives us something meaningful to do as an agency during the month of May. Now let’s feed those kids and have some fun!”
Throughout the month of May, MJ2 urges local businesses and organizations to get creative with their staff—and their red noses!—and capture a photo or video to be shared on social media with #MJ2RedNoseDay. Our past entries have included spoofs of the “Operation” game, a take on the “Friends” TV theme song, and the Brady Bunch.
In addition to encouraging groups to have fun, we also want them to promote Red Nose Day, collect donations, and raise awareness of childhood poverty. The MJ2 team selects the most creative post tagged with #MJ2RedNoseDay and gives a prize to the staff to enjoy together. This year we will be giving a Pins Mechanical gift card so that the winning group can bring out their inner kid!
