Over the past few months we have seen a number of changes roll out across several different social media platforms. Between the changes to Facebook’s algorithm, Twitter’s new “Tailored Audiences” feature, and the plethora of other updates, businesses have had plenty to do this winter. The latest to jump on the bandwagon is LinkedIn with several new features for business pages:
- Custom Images for Shared Links
The first of the updates to LinkedIn’s company pages is the ability to customize the image that is posted alongside your shared link. LinkedIn will still load a thumbnail by default, but if you would like a different thumbnail you can simply upload your own, using the “Upload Image” button overlaid on top of the thumbnail. - The New Company Feed
In an effort to provide easier access to company pages, LinkedIn has rolled out a new Company Feed for all users. This feed is separate from the main LinkedIn feed that shows both individual’s updates and businesses, and only loads updates posted by company pages. In addition, the company feed provides easy access to all of the pages that you manage. - Showcase Pages
The biggest LinkedIn update is certainly the new “Showcase Pages”. This new feature allows companies with multiple products or divisions to create an individual page for each aspect of their business. These pages will be linked to the original brand page, but will allow companies to post more relevant content to specific subsets of their audience.
